Joey Kacal
"BOUNTY HUNTER"
Kacal Brothers Racing is comprised of myself, Joey and my twin brother Michael. We were raised in Sweeny, Texas around the sport of mud racing. Our passion for mud racing came from our dad, Terry Wayne Kacal, who raced in the 70's and 80's.  We built the first Bounty Hunter in 1997, to race in the modified class.

We constantly made changes to the truck every year, fueled by the desire to run faster.  In 2003, we purchased our first blower and a set of paddle tires.  Never having raced outside of Texas, we decided to make the trek to the grand daddy of them all -Indy '03.
We placed 18th out of 36 trucks in an S-10 bodied truck that weighed 3500 pounds.  Upon returning home, we'd ordered a rear engine chassis from Mike Husman, converted to a Hemi and added a Whipple supercharger in hopes of standing out at Indy '04. Unfortunately, at mid season, we kicked a rod out at half track. We still won the race, but were unable to make it to Indy.  With Indy still on our minds, we built another motor over the winter, and in 2005 we set a local track record that held for almost five years.  A racing accident in 2005 left me with a compression fracture, bulged discs, bruised tailbone and a car that we brought home in pieces.  After our run of bad luck, we no longer make a lot of hype about road trips... Just load up and go!

In January 2006, our dad passed away suddenly at the age of 51.  For a few years thereafter, we just didn't have the desire to race without him; however, in 2009 we came across a picture of the Bounty Hunter crew and our dad, and the flame was reignited. We purchased
another chassis built by Mike Husman and rebuilt the Hemi. We were back in the hunt!  In 2010, we set a local track record and made the haul to Muddi Gras in Florida. Ready to turn up the wick for 2011.

All this wouldn't be possible without the enthusiasm for the sport of mud racing our dad instilled in us, and his dedication in teaching us the ropes. In addition, we're extremely grateful for the support we have from dedicated crew member, Bruce Correll,
SWF Incorporated, Mike Husman, Pekar Performance and many other family members and friends.

We are very honored and excited to be a member of the PRO-BADD family, and we look forward to a record-setting season!
