Darryl Jones from Sanford, NC began Hill N’ Hole mud racing in 2000.  His oldest son Shawn had been mud racing at a nearby track.  Eventually Deborah and his youngest son Michael got Darryl to attend this local track.  Darryl really did not want to go because he knew he would end up spending a lot of money.  That day we bought and came home with our first truck “Scooby Doo”.   Michael our youngest son drove “Scooby Doo” through the 2002 season, this is when Darryl took over “Scooby Doo”, and Michael was placed in “A Pup Named Scooby Doo”. Darryl claimed he was teaching a young dog new tricks.

Our race team began growing from the first truck; we have seven trucks now, Scooby, Pup Named Scooby, Shaggy, Scrappy, Daphne, Fred & The Mystery Machine.  We support the sport of mud racing all across the US.

In 2006 Darryl & Deborah opened Lee County Mud Motorsports Complex.  They built this track to support the racers.  After attending a lot of tracks the previous 6 years. Darryl & Deborah seen a need for a track that was family oriented and racer friendly.

Darryl set the world record for Hill N’ Hole mud racing on October 6, 2007.  Running a 4.889 in a 272 foot pit.  He was able to hold on to this title till April 5, 2008. Darryl is assured that he will regain this title during the 2009 season.  I was correct On July 4, 2009 Darryl set the New World Record with a time of 4.120 in a 250’ Hill ‘N Hole Pit.

In 2009 Darryl wanted to play with the big boys, so he put a blown motor in “Scooby Doo”  he is twice the weight of the cars he is running against on the flat track but he feels the need to show that competitive Hill and Hole trucks can show support for all types of mud & dirt motorsports.

Darryl would like to thank all the people that has helped him along the way, Mark(The Shark) Lee, Gary Baker, Mike (Fastlane) Lane, his newly found friend Eric Hutto and all of the Pro-Badd guys.  You guys are awesome.
