SHOWDOWN at COBBTOWN 
    ALL-STAR NATIONALS



 LANE, LEE & BARBER
 take top spots at the  second stop of the
PROBADD ALL-STAR Series Nationals  
in Cobbtown, GA.

The second winter race of the PROBADD points series started off cool and damp as the last couple of days had heavy rain. The Cobbtown crew had the track covered till the day of the race. Scattered showers were forecast for the afternoon and racing got underway around 1:30pm.

 

The first pair was Andy Garrett of Saint Louis, MO. driving “REAL ESTATE MOVER”

in the left lane, and Darryl Jones of Sanford, NC. driving “SCOOBY DOO” in the right lane.

Andy’s E.T. was a 3.220 on his first pass and Andy bettered his E.T. on his second pass, a 2.633 to place sixth overall. Darryl drifted on his first pass hitting the guard rail and destroying SCOOBYS rear tire with an E.T. of 3.341 and was unable to return. Darryl finished eighth overall.

The next pair had Kevin Stone from Mechanicsburg, OH. driving “The GRIND” in the left lane and Mark (The SHARK) Lee from Clayton, NC. driving his “PURE ENERGY” in the right lane. Kevin’s first pass was a 3.019 and the second pass of a 2.808 to place seventh overall. Mark ran an E.T. of 2.315 lifting to keep from hitting the guard rail
and placed 2nd overall with that pass. Mark was finished for the day for safety reasons.

 Next up was Mike (FASTLANE) Lane from Botkins, OH. Driving “WICKED SENSATION” and Shawn Barber from Elsberry, MO. driving “BACK IN BLACK”. Mike layed down the winning pass with an E.T. of 2.251 with the motor kicking rods at the end of the pass. This is 2 years in a row winning at Cobbtown, and with this win FASTLANE ties the SHARK for first place in the ALL-STAR points series. Shawn Barber also laid down a good pass 2.336 to place him third overall. His second pass

Larry D'Antoni (POWER PRO 1)
was a 2.337. Talk about Consistency. Shawn is currently third in the points chase.

Larry D’Antoni from New Orleans, LA. Driving his “POWER PRO1” ran an E.T. of 2.716 on his first pass and laid down a 2.379 on his second pass to end up fourth place overall and placing him tied for fourth in the ALL-Star points series standings.


Mike "FASTLANE" Lane (ATTITUDE) & Billy Fling (REALITY CHECK)

Billy Fling from Sunbury, OH. Driving his “REALITY CHECK” ran with Mike (FASTLANE) Lane, another buckeye, and the 2010 KING of BADD driving his “ATTITUDE”. Billy was in the left lane and turned in a 2.473 on his first pass. His second pass was 2.459 to place fifth overall for the event and placing him tied for fourth in the points chase. Mike left the line hard, and also left parts on the track, not quite making a full run, and was finished for the day.
