I was born in Rochester NY in 1963, and now live outside of Saint Louis, MO. I started my racing career racing3 wheelers in 1986, which led me into a jeep and 4 wheeling off road. Then I started mud racing in 1990. At my first Jamboree I took a 2nd place in the super street class. I was hooked! I got into some water craft racing in the 90s while still mudding. In 2000 my friend Mike Maurath bough the car "Real Estate Mover", the team's first blower car. The car was completely out of our league with no fuel or blower experience between us. So we went to California to attend fuel school, money well spent! With some great success crew cheifing and driving I decided to build a high tech state of the art race car.
"Bamboozled" was created with a light weight solid aluminum AMC/Jeep 500 cid small block. Its a platform for the Billet AMC Heads I am developing. The car is sponsored by and uses a ProCharger F3R centrifugal blower. I use alcohol fuel delivered by a EFI fuel system and timing system with data logging. I use combo Flow Nos valves for a 3 stage dry system in naturally aspirated classes, without a blower. Another first! The chassis incorporates some nontraditional light weight components. Still thinking out of the box, which makes this a very unique race car!
This was a very difficult build because there are no parts made for this combo. As a result, I have to engineer. design, and fabricate every part myself. this unusual engine combo is a one of a kind with no existing data or any one to call for advice on a blown AMC with EFI. With some difficult years of testing and racing, not to mention expenses, the little small block no runs with the big blocks and hemis.
